GMAT Books

A lot of people have asked which GMAT books to use. I have a made a list of all (or mostly all) the GMAT Books that are available on the market. In general, I recommend Manhattan GMAT and I have heard good things about Veritas. I would also recommend you checkout the reviews on Amazon too. (You can do this by clicking on the link for each book) In interest of full disclosure, I do get a small commission if you click on one of the links and purchase the books. Please note that it is a fixed percentage and the comission is the same for all the books. Happy studying!

Official GMAT Books

- These books are published by GMAC – the makers of the GMAT. These books have great practice questions but the strategy sections are so-so.
The newest book (with integrated reasoning section):

From Left to Right, The Official Guide 12th Edition, The Quant Guide, and the Verbal Guide.

Manhattan GMAT Books

– These books are pretty solid. Don’t take my word for it, read the review on amazon by clicking on the book. These are the newest set of books:

Veritas Prep Books

- Veritas, a GMAT Test Preparation Company, also makes a complete set of GMAT books. I have not used them personally but they get excellent reviews. Check them out. Click on a book to see reviews. Veritas Complete Set

Complete Set by Veritas Prep.
Contains 15 Books.

Veritas Individual Strategy Books (Quant)

Veritas Individual Strategy Books (Verbal and writing)

PowerScore GMAT (Verbal Books) These verbal books are pretty good too.

In my experience, these books are okay, not great but not terrible either.

Princeton Review

– These books are quite mediocre. I don’t recommend these if you are targeting a score of 700 or higher. Ironically, these book are targeted to the Joe Bloggs of the world while the books simultaneously make fun of them.

Other GMAT Books

I haven’t used these GMAT books so I can’t attest the quality of these books. I added them here is I want this page on GMAT Books to be as useful and comprehensive as possible.

If you get test anxiety and wonder what the booklet on test day will be like, fear not.
